Breathing Space is the debut solo album from musician and producer Barry Reid. Spanning the genres of electronica and folk, this album is a collection of original melodies mixed with organic sounds, synthesizers, electronic rhythms and featuring sound recordings that Barry has collected from his favourite spaces in and around the rural landscape of Ross-Shire and Inverness-Shire.

Recorded and mixed at Rose Croft Studio in the Highlands, Barry has written, produced and engineered the album with a wealth of instruments, including acoustic guitar, synthesizers, harmonium, Ableton drums and samples, piano keyboard, percussion and vocal drones. To bring the newly composed melodies to life, Breathing Space features the highly accomplished talents of his guest musicians; Lauren MacColl, Hamish Napier, Laura Wilkie, Innes Watson and Ali Hutton.

Barry has made his name in the Scottish music scene by not only being a member of such distinguished bands as the mighty Treacherous Orchestra and folk funksters Croft No.Five, but also as a well respected studio engineer and producer, with a large discography of albums to his name.
