Introducing Cosmic — the debut album from Àirdan.

We are thrilled to announce the launch of Cosmic, the debut album from Àirdan, a four-piece traditional Scottish music band based in Edinburgh, Scotland.

Described by Celtic Music Radio as delivering “raw energy and a modern young twist,” Àirdan brings a fresh, vibrant sound to the Scottish folk tradition. Cosmic weaves together timeless Scottish and Irish tunes with dynamic original compositions and inspiring works by contemporary composers, blending creative arrangements with stunning melodies.

Featuring the formidable talents of Paul Sinclair (fiddle), Coll Williamson (accordion), David Lennon (guitar), and Ewa Adamiec (drum kit), Àirdan craft a sound that is both deeply rooted and boldly adventurous.

Produced by the acclaimed Anna Massie, Cosmic was recorded and mixed at Gran’s House by Angus Lyon and Chris Waite, and mastered by Sam Proctor at Lismore Mastering. The striking album art was created by Edinburgh-based artist Robin Gage, with album design by drummer Ewa Adamiec.

Formed in 2021, Àirdan’s journey began in the heart of Edinburgh’s thriving live music and session scene, where their shared passion for traditional music — and for pushing its boundaries — brought them together. Their sound is shaped by the acoustic energy of late-night Celtic sessions, enriched by influences from travels to far-flung corners of the globe.

Àirdan have already made their mark with performances at iconic Edinburgh venues including Stramash, Liquid Rooms, and Sneaky Pete’s, and have lit up festivals such as Eden Festival, Moniaive Folk Festival, and Edinburgh Climate Festival. In 2024, they celebrated two sold-out shows at the Acoustic Music Centre as part of the Edinburgh Fringe.

Cosmic captures the spirit of a new generation embracing tradition, while fearlessly charting their own musical constellation.
