Press Release
Nancy K. Dillon is an award-winning American songwriter/performer mining a vein of avant garde Americana in her tales of place, history & mythopoetic darkness and light. Her third full-length studio album, A Game of Swans, was released in the USA in early 2018 debuting at #19 on the prestigious FAI Folk Radio Chart and remaining in the Top 50 for a second month. Now, A Game of Swans is being released in the UK & Europe on Christmas Day.
The songs on A Game of Swans were inspired and informed by Dillon’s passion for genealogy and hearken back to her Scots / Irish / English / European roots while maintaining her gaze towards new vistas and far horizons in America.
A Game of Swans was recorded half in the Pacific Northwest of the United States and half in the United Kingdom through the magic of the internet. The twelve tracks feature musical contributions from British and Scottish collaborators, Gavin Sutherland (Sutherland Brothers & Quiver), Ian Lang (Small Change), Chris Parks (Any Trouble) and Ollie Collins (Badly Drawn Boy/Angie Palmer) who combine their prodigious talents with American contributors Stacy Phillips (Dobro), Michael Connelly (fiddle/uilleann pipes/penny whistle), Wes Weddell (mandolin), Chris Leighton (percussion), Garey Shelton (bass guitar/engineer) and harmony vocalists Joy Mills and Tom Parker.

It’s been close to 8 years since we’ve had new music from Seattle based singer-songwriter Nancy K. Dillon. Her fine album Game of Swans makes us hope it won’t be quite so long next time. Iaan Hughes Music of the Moment
