Press Release
The Scottish Fiddle Orchestra has been bringing the best of Scotland’s traditional music to audiences across the globe for 45 years. Their groundbreaking blend of instruments and arrangements combining strings, wind, accordions, percussion, and pipes have become a template for a host of contemporary groups.
This latest recording, engineered by David Donaldson and produced by Kobus Frick in Clockwork Sessions Studio in Glasgow, is a celebration of Scotland’s timeless beauty and musical heritage. The listener will be transported from the rugged silhouette of the Isle of Arran, where the Sleeping Warrior rests in eternal watch, to the rolling hills and glens of the Scottish mainland. The album features a rich tapestry of tunes from traditional to contemporary, weaving together a musical narrative that is both deeply rooted in traditional Scottish music and refreshingly modern.
Conductor Blair Parham, Leader Yla Steven and the Scottish Fiddle Orchestra invite you on a journey through melodies that evoke the spirit of the land, the warmth of its people, the echoes of its history and the future of our music.
